Another Matter Exhibition´s Documentation

The exhibition Another Matter explored new ways of relating to the more-than-human and inquires into the social, material, and aesthetic conditions of the so-called Anthropocene. The exhibited works examine matters of concern beyond anthropocentrism, following Donna Haraway’s call for tentacular thinking. As an aperture towards new understandings, it brings together artifacts, sketches, notes, and vignettes from a range of ongoing research processes. Presented as an assemblage of in-progress works ranging from video- and installation-based to sculpture and painting, the exhibition embraces the potential of the unfinished to open up new discourses and pose continuously new questions. This Eexhibition was developed by the

I, you, he / she / it, we, you, they – a grammatical system is indis- pensable for anyone learning a new language. Yet “I” and “you” can be the same person – depending on the eye of the beholder. METHEXIS – on site sensitivity and it’s Entanglements ll: from Methexis to Praxis

A seminar by Nina Fischer, Marina Fokidis* and Lilli Kuschel WHAT IS TOPOS? (LOCATION) AND WHAT IS TIME IN THE GLOBALISED HYPERLINKED BRAVE TRANSWOLRD? How necessary is it to speak exclusively in terms of concrete geography and distinctions? Especially, if we want to define a destiny that claims real freedom or at least an attempt at it. From where do we start, if we want to open up a possibility for discursive change to occur? Whose experiences are being narrated here by whom and why?” How can we go even further, beyond the cultural dependence between the “center” and the

Methexis : On Site–Sensitivity and Its Entanglements I

With Marina Fokidis Within two weeks end of November, we were discussing with the curator Marina Fokidis different concepts that are related to the term Methexis. Methexis (from Ancient Greek) can be translated as „the unaccountable“. The term describes a form of theatre in which the audience participates and improvises, as well as the relation between the particular and the platonic form in Philosophy. Together we approached a possible definition of Methexis by mapping and discussing related topics, such as site-sensitivity, the construction of identity, un-learning, colonial structures, …This process was informed by input from Marina, different readings, artworks and films. The exhibition will conclude with a film and performance evening event. ‘Living on the edge’: when we think of spaces we tend to think of the space within. We leave the edges — the peripheries — where instability festers and sprawls out, for the rebellious or the adventurous. In cities, living at
