Created in the frame of the seminar Filmmaking as a Magical Practice by Sabrina Labis, Katharina Lüdin and Anna Ilin

Drawing on Vilém Flusser’s reflections on the camera as a “magical

apparatus” and on the “magical character of the image,” the seminar

explored a cyclical and non-linear approach to filmmaking. Film was

understood as a magical practice — a process that foregrounds

intuition, transformation, and the unpredictable.
